Overview

Mara is a paralegal in Ball Janik’s Sarasota office with over 20 years of experience supporting clients and attorneys. She is an experienced writer and communicator, excelling in drafting and preparing correspondence and legal documents and communicating with judges and court personnel. She is adept at research and assists in all manner of document preparation, legal filings, navigating Florida’s e-Portal system, and gathering information for trial preparation.

Before joining the firm, Mara worked as the sole paralegal for a boutique firm in New Jersey that focused on legal malpractice. This experience offered her a unique opportunity to work the “case within a case,” as an underlying case covers any legal matter, such as marital, estate, discrimination, personal injury, and more. Ms. Koes worked on the firm’s largest malpractice case, which consisted of over 200 clients, spanned over ten years, and involved one of the country’s largest insurance companies and a well-know discrimination firm in the tri-state area.

In her free time, Mara can often be found exploring the beaches of Florida and watching the New York Jets with her three daughters.
