Overview
Florida-born Christopher Cabrera brings a unique blend of legal and construction expertise to Ball Janik’s Construction Defect Practice Group. As the first American born in his Cuban family, who became deeply involved in the construction industry upon immigrating to the United States, Christopher grew up immersed in the construction industry, developing a lifelong passion for it from an early age.
This passion led him to pursue a career in engineering and law; he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Florida International University and his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University College of Law, where he graduated in the top 10 percent of his cohort. As an engineer and Florida-certified general contractor, Christopher leverages his in-depth knowledge for success in construction law and defect litigation. His hands-on experience in the industry enables him to provide clients with invaluable insights and effective solutions, ensuring they receive the best possible representation in construction defect cases.
Prior to joining Ball Janik, Christopher worked for a real estate law firm and a construction firm. A strong communicator both in English and Spanish, he thrives on tackling unique challenges and works closely with his clients to develop strategic plans.
A member of the Florida Bar, Christopher is part of the Florida Bar Construction Law Institute and of the American Bar Association Forum on Construction.
When away from the office, Christopher enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and fishing.
