An article published on 12/1 in Commercial Construction & Renovation highlights Ball Janik LLP’s new Attorneys, Blake Konkol and Leah Golbuff, who have joined the Orlando office. Konkol handles construction defect matters while Golbuff focuses on insurance recovery matters.

“We welcome Leah and Blake to our Orlando team and congratulate them for recently passing the Bar,” said James C. Prichard, Ball Janik Managing Partner. “As our firm broadens our practice in areas such as construction defect litigation and insurance matters, we continue to add to our headcount and provide our clients with added resources.”

Golbuff, who earned her law degree from Barry University’s Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, represents business and individual policyholders in insurance coverage litigation and preparation of trial exhibits. Her prior experience includes injury recovery and other insurance matters for some of the top firms in Orlando, and she also worked for the United States Marshal Service analyzing criminal case data and incoming threats.

“Ball Janik is an industry leader in standing up for policyholder rights and achieving just outcomes for our clients,” said Golbuff.  “I am thrilled to be working with a very talented team on insurance recovery and resolving other matters in Central Florida and across the state.”

Konkol, who earned his J.D. at Penn State, advocates on behalf of owners and HOAs in his construction defect work at Ball Janik. He previously worked at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Allegheny County and Centre County Offices of the District Attorneys.

“It is an honor to be a part of Ball Janik’s respected construction defects team, and I look forward to many productive years together,” said Konkol. “Because the pace of new housing in Central Florida continues to increase, we must be ready to handle a higher number of cases surrounding construction flaws than ever before.”
