Ball Janik LLP is pleased to announce that Adele Ridenour, a partner in the firm’s Portland office, has been appointed to the Oregon Women Lawyers (OWLS) board of directors. OWLS’ Mission Statement is “To transform the practice of law and ensure justice and equality by advancing women and minorities in the legal profession.” Adele is a regular participant in the organization’s annual fashion show benefiting Dress for Success Oregon, a very successful and fun event. Dress for Success Oregon is a nonprofit that strives to “empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.” Ball Janik LLP’s Executive Director Heather Oden said, “I am proud of Adele’s appointment to the Board of Directors of Oregon Women Lawyers. Adele Ridenour is a litigator whose practice focuses on construction law, insurance recovery, and commercial litigation. Ms. Ridenour was selected as one of the “Top 40 Under 40 Litigation Lawyers” in 2014 and 2015 by the American Society of Legal Advocates. She was recognized by her peers as an Oregon Super Lawyer from 2013-2015 in the area of Construction Litigation. Ms. Ridenour has developed significant experience litigating construction defect cases involving complex commercial projects, condominiums, warehouses and hotels. She has also successfully represented various property owners and homeowners’ associations in insurance recovery actions, including second-chairing a 2010 insurance coverage action which resulted in a $1.87 million verdict in favor of a condominium homeowners association.
