Stephanie M. Hicks joined the Bend, Oregon office of Ball Janik LLP in 2006 as an associate. Ms. Hicks is a member of the firm's land use and environmental practice groups, and her practice focuses on representation of developers through the land use permitting process and obtaining entitlements.
Prior to moving to Central Oregon, Ms. Hicks practiced law in Washington State for 12 years. She has been associated with several prominent Seattle-area law firms and also was appointed as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the Land Use Section of the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, Civil Division, in 2005. Ms. Hicks has an extensive background assisting clients with issues concerning land use planning, permitting and compliance with applicable federal, state and local environmental regulations. Ms. Hicks has appeared before numerous local land use decision-making bodies, administrative review boards, and appellate courts to secure or defend development rights for clients.
A graduate of the University of Washington (B.A., cum laude, with distinction, 1991), Ms. Hicks received her J.D., cum laude, from Willamette University College of Law in 1994, where she was an editor of the Willamette Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board.
Ms. Hicks is licensed in Oregon and Washington.
