Portland, Oregon – June 09, 2016. Megan A. Picataggio has joined Ball Janik LLP’s Orlando office as an associate in its Construction and Litigation practice groups. Her practice is focused on construction litigation and transactional law, including design and construction disputes and construction defect litigation. Having grown up in the construction industry, Ms. Picataggio combines her personal and professional experiences with an educational background that strongly enhances her construction practice. Ms. Picataggio offers additional value to clients through her experience in the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex construction contracts and her educational background in land use law.

Prior to joining Ball Janik, Ms. Picataggio was an associate at a construction boutique firm where she represented general contractors, design professionals, sureties, and subcontractors in a wide range of issues specific to the construction industry including lien actions, payment bond claims, professional negligence claims, and delay and impact claims in Florida and across the country. She also gained experience defending contractors and subcontractors in construction defect claims. She has significant experience representing contractors and design professionals to reach creative solutions. Through this experience, Ms. Picataggio assisted and participated in alternative dispute resolution, litigation, and trials.

Ms. Picataggio is a member of the Florida Bar’s Real Property Section and the Construction Committee. She is a member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law and a member of the Orange County Bar Association.

In addition to her bar affiliations, Ms. Picataggio is a member of construction industry groups and organizations including the National Association of Women in Construction’s (NAWIC) Greater Orlando Chapter, where she currently serves as the Vice President. She is the recipient of the Chapter’s 2014-2015 Rookie of the Year Award and the 2014-2015 Innovator Award. Ms. Picataggio donates her time to local organizations including the Legal Aid Society of the OCBA and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando.
