LifeWorks NW – Construction of New Treatment and Living Facility
Ball Janik LLP represented LifeWorks NW, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a healthy community by providing quality and culturally responsive mental health and addiction services across a person’s lifespan. Ball Janik provided pro bono legal services in connection with LifeWorks NW efforts to construct a new facility for one of its primary programs, Project Network. Project Network focuses on treatment and life skills education, including parenting and relationship building for women facing addiction with small children. The new building will provide on-site treatment services, and provide living accommodations to patients and their young children. The new facility was funded in part by New Market Tax Credits (NMTC). Ball Janik provided legal advice and assistance in this transaction, helping to secure financing, including NMTCs, and negotiating construction contracts and ancillary documents for the development of the facility. The new Project Network building will open in August of 2014.
Bruce H. Cahn (litigation partner and member of the LifeWorks NW board) represented LifeWorks NW in this matter.
