Mark Jackson joined Ball Janik LLP’s Seattle office in 2009 and is Chair of the firm’s Government Contracts practice group. He has more than 25 years of experience in government contracts and construction litigation. Mr. Jackson has regularly appeared before government agency tribunals, the boards of contract appeals, and the Court of Federal Claims, as well as state and federal courts throughout the United States. He has successfully defended and prosecuted through trial and/or arbitration a variety of claims, including those involving Cost Accounting Standards, the Limitation of Funds clause, false claims allegations, constructive changes, defective specifications, differing site conditions, superior knowledge, acceleration and delay, and loss of productivity.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Jackson served in a variety of roles while on active duty in the U.S. Air Force, including as a procurement analyst on a major weapons program and as a trial attorney on the Air Force Contract Litigation Team. Most recently, he was a partner in an international law firm where his practice focused on government contracts and construction litigation.
Mr. Jackson is a frequent speaker on issues involving government contracts and construction litigation and has published numerous articles on these topics.
